- Pull the hair off your face by wetting it water or by applying
oil on it and then comb it back and tie it tight, in front of the
mirror.
- Take a pace away from the mirror, or you can even use a straight
camera facing photograph if yours for the same purpose.
- Draw an outline of your face over the mirror, or in a
transparent paper kept above the photograph using a lipstick.

 Oval Face: An Oval shaped face has a slightly rounded jaw
and there are no unusual characteristics, this face just resembles
an egg. The person with oval shape is considered to be a lucky one.
This shape is the most perfect face. Almost every hair style suits
them. It is suggested that these people keep the hair off their
face. As this will cover the face shape and it may appear to add
weight on their face.
Round Face:
The Characteristics of a round face are: rounded jaw line, face
almost as wide as tall and rounded cheekbones. People with round
face are advised to stay out full and round hair styles. The sides
are suggested to be leaner and a bit higher at the top.
Square Face: A squared jaw line, almost as wide as long,
straight sides, jaw and cheek bones the same width are the
characteristics of the a Squared face. It is advised to have a
medium or long hair about one inch below the chin for these facial
shapes. The hair styles chosen should soften the sharp angles of the
jaw. Hair worn on the forehead will best suit this shape.
Triangular Face: This facial shape has wide cheekbones and
forehead, and a pointed chin. It is suggested to choose a hair style
that narrows the forehead. Also don’t have hair styles that are full
at the jaw line. The best hair length would the chin length hair. By
decreasing the volumes at the top and sides and adding curls and
fullness to the chin area would look great.
Long Face:
A long shaped face has face longer than it is wide, often rounded
jaw line. The cheekbones and the jaw have the same width. Hair
styles adding width and fullness to the face and around the eyes,
cheekbones and ears best suits this kind of face. Asymmetric
haircuts will look great on this face shape. Hair styles that widen
the face are suggested.
Diamond Face: Faces with narrow jaw line and forehead and
wider eyes are said to be diamond shaped. The goal is to minimize
the wider cheeks to balance out the narrow looking chin and
forehead. Longer shag hairstyles will work as the best hair styles.
